My name is Andrea; I have been a part of the NorthPointe Wellness team from the beginning! It has been a great experience starting with the gym from the early planning phases and seeing everything come together and grow into the unique facility that it is today. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Movement Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). I am a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sport Medicine. I truly enjoy working with all ages and abilities. I have experience with seniors that strive to improve quality of living and other components such as balance and strength. I also enjoyed working with a younger population during my Fit Camp for Kids during the summer. On a personal note, I am a new mother, so I understand the importance of exercise during and after pregnancy. I love what I do, and it is my goal to help others understand and enjoy exercise as much as I do.
Prior to joining the NorthPointe staff, I attended Illinois State University and earned my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Athletic Coaching. My passion for fitness has stemmed primarily from my student-athlete experiences as both a Division I sprinter and long jumper during my time at Illinois State competing for the Redbirds. After my time as an athlete was over, I was fortunate enough to complete my full-time internship at The Pit in Bloomington Illinois. While working at The Pit, I was able to learn, create, and implement multiple types of programming for strength, endurance, and metabolic conditioning for members from all walks of life. As a certified personal trainer, it is my goal to not only help you jump start your fitness journey but also make it as fun as possible!
I recently graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science and received my certification in exercise physiology from the American College of Sports Medicine. While in college I coached gymnastics and was also the team’s strength and conditioning coach. My passion for health and fitness stem from my participation in sports including: track and field, cross country, competition cheerleading and gymnastics. My goal is to guide you through your fitness journey, expanding your knowledge of fitness and wellness and help you to look and feel better physically and mentally. Exercise can be fun and enjoyable and I want to help you find that in your fitness experience.
Hi, I am Janette! I am pleased to say I have been a part of the NorthPointe team since day one.
I believe being healthy is a lifestyle. To live a healthy life style one needs positive attitude, great support, and self-discipline to stay on track. It takes both healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle to stay happy and healthy. Being healthy can help you mentally and physically. Moderation is key, so you can still enjoy the good stuff! I enjoy working with all levels of people. I have helped kids stay active, teaching youth wellness & weight loss in the Poconos. I developed baby and me class and stroller and strength here at NorthPointe. Outside NorthPointe you can see me running half marathons and various boot camp style/ muddy races. My passion is helping people reach their fitness goals by encouragement and finding the support system they need to make that happen. As a trainer, I too, find my own support system for living a healthy lifestyle. Beyond Fitness- As a mother of 3, I do enjoy being active with my family including bike rides and races. I love spending time with my kids and husband, game nights, baking, planning local fitness events, and coffee.
My Certifications included: Bachelors in Kinesiology, National Strength & Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer.
Hi, my name is Emily! I graduated from Northern Illinois University in August 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. I am a certified personal trainer through American College of Sports Medicine. I am looking to build my knowledge and skills through work experience and gaining more certifications. I am currently working on obtaining a group exercise instructor certification. Other certifications that I am interested in earning are senior fitness, yoga, and fitness nutrition. Later down the road, I plan to go back to Northern Illinois University for graduate school and earn a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. A few hobbies of mine include running, baking, and being with my family and friends. My favorite hobby that I love is dance!
